Who I Am

I’m Shawna (Boucher) Devlin, a Marketing Specialist with over two decades of corporate experience who believes the best marketing doesn’t just build brands—it builds relationships and strengthens communities. I’ve spent my career in the spaces where creativity meets strategy, from my early days as one of the original team members at MLC Group Inc., where I wore every hat imaginable, to leading marketing initiatives that generated over a billion dollars in lot sales.

Through Devlin by Design, I bring together my professional expertise with a heart-centered approach to helping Indigenous entrepreneurs and organizations tell their stories authentically. Whether I’m developing comprehensive rebranding campaigns for Inspire Group of Companies or creating marketing strategies for programs like Indigenous Ignite, I lead with cultural respect, strategic thinking, and a genuine desire to see people succeed.

I’m a builder at heart—someone who sees possibilities where others see challenges and who believes in creating systems that empower people to do their best work. I thrive on rolling up my sleeves, building strong teams, and staying curious about what’s possible when we combine passion with purpose.

Called Home by My Ancestors

I am Métis Cree from Treaty 6 (Lac La Biche territory), though I was separated from my mother's family at age three and raised by my Irish family near St. Brides, Alberta. In 2021, encouraged by my paternal Grandmother and with help from two cousins, I was reunited with my mother—a precious reconnection cut short by her passing.

Through this reunion, I received a family tree documenting seven generations of the Bouchers dating back to the 1790s. I discovered my Kokum spoke only Cree. Of my mother’s twelve siblings, she was the last to speak, leaving me with almost seventy first cousins to reconnect with.

I asked my mother’s and Kokum’s spirits to lead me to my tribe—and they answered. I found my Elders, my medicine women, and my Métis family. I discovered circles of women walking the same path of cultural reconnection—business entrepreneurs building their dreams, artists reclaiming their creative voices, healers sharing their gifts, and women supporting women through gatherings like the Wild Roses Festival.

My ancestors called me home to help others walk this path of reconnection.

The shortest distance between two points might be a straight line, but the strongest connections are circular. When you create genuine value and build trust over time, your audience becomes part of your story—
bringing others into the circle.
